PRESIDENT JOSIPOVIC ATTENDS SHIP LAUNCH ON KORCULA ISLAND
KORCULA, July 29 (Hina) - Croatian President Ivo Josipovic, who is on a visit to the southern Adriatic island of Korcula, attended the launch of a new ship in the Leda shipyard - the 21st ship which the Korcula-based shipyard has delivered to its Dutch partner Peters. Speaking at the ceremony, Josipovic said the launch was a story of success of all employees of the shipyard, the town of Korcula and Dubrovnik-Neretva County.
"I hope the government will find a model to preserve the shipbuilding industry, because shipbuilding is Croatia's tradition," Josipovic said.
Josipovic also held talks with the shipyard's officials. This afternoon he is expected to attend a session of the Korcula City Council.
